What to do if you receive a positive test

If you receive a positive COVID-19 test, you should do the following:

Self-isolate as much as possible, only leaving the house for medical appointments

If you test positive, you should limit your exposure to others. You should only leave your home for medical treatment and/or medical appointments.

Monitor your health and symptoms daily

You should monitor your symptoms, including fever; cough; shortness of breath; fatigue; headache; loss of taste or smell; nausea or vomiting; congestion, or runny nose.

Clean all high-touch surfaces or shared spaces daily

If you live in a shared space, it is critical to clean and disinfect all high-touch surfaces frequently in order to limit the spread of the virus. Household cleaners and disinfectants are acceptable for disinfecting these surfaces.

Cover your mouth when coughing/sneezing and wash your hands frequently

When coughing or sneezing, you should direct your mouth to your inner elbow in order to stop the spread of the respiratory droplets. After coughing or sneezing, you should immediately wash your hands in hot, soapy water for at least 20 seconds. If you have a positive test result, you should wash your hands frequently to limit the spread of the virus.
